Travel Assistance Abroad Insurance
What is “Travel Assistance & Medical Expenses” Insurance?
This is a voluntary insurance designed for individuals. The insurance provides assistance in the event of an accident or sudden illness and covers medical expenses while traveling abroad.
The insurance reimburses expenses, pays benefits, and provides assistance and specialized services for events occurring during travel or stay outside the territory of Bulgaria, and, in cases where foreign nationals are insured, outside the country of their residence.
Coverage of the Insurance:

The insurance sum / limits for medical expenses are chosen by you and may be €2,000, €4,000, €5,000, €10,000, €15,000, €25,000, or €30,000 (or equivalent in USD), depending on the selected insurance program.
Basic Coverage – CLAUSE A (minimum required to take out the insurance):

Medical assistance, tests, and treatment;

Transportation and hospitalization;
-
Repatriation;
-
Information to your relatives.
“Multitrip” Option – offered for multiple trips: the insurance is taken out for a 1-year period with limits of €20,000 or €30,000 (or equivalent in USD) and applies to each trip abroad during this period – from the moment of crossing the border of the Republic of Bulgaria until returning. When taking out the insurance, you must select the maximum duration for each trip within the insurance year: up to 30, 60, or 90 calendar days.
Territorial Coverage:

Zone 1: Includes the geographic boundaries of Europe, including the Canary Islands, as well as countries along the Mediterranean coast, excluding Bulgaria and the country of residence if you are a foreign citizen.

Zone 2: Worldwide, excluding the territory of Bulgaria and the country of residence if you are a foreign citizen.
What are my obligations?

To answer all questions posed by the insurer when taking out the insurance, providing accurate, truthful, and complete information;

To pay the insurance premium under the contract within the agreed deadlines;

In the event of an insured event, to contact the Assistance Company and pre-approve any services that may incur expenses covered by this policy, and to follow the instructions of the Assistance Company regarding service providers, scope of medical services, or transportation;

To provide requested documents related to verifying the event and the amount of expenses;

To take all necessary measures to limit or reduce expenses and follow the given instructions.
How can I pay?

The insurance premium is paid as a one-off sum, in Bulgarian leva, at the official BNB exchange rate on the date of payment.

The premium can be paid at the offices of OZK Insurance nationwide, by bank transfer, or through your insurance intermediary.
