Starting 1 August 2019, any individuals who own cars up to 11 years old and make Casco (Total) insurance of Road Motor Vehicles (RMV) will get subscription Roadside Assistance Cards for free from the Union of Bulgarian Motorists (UBM).
There are two types of Roadside Assistance Cards offered - Gold and Silver Cards.
Gold Cards will be handed to individuals whose cars are up to 5 years old as at the effective date for the insurance coverage. The holder of a valid Gold Card can use the following services in the Republic of Bulgaria and throughout Europe:
• Free feeding of current to make the engine start in case of a faulty battery, and tire replacement – for an unlimited number of times;
• Free labor for up to 30 minutes of damage repairs by a Roadside Assistance Mechanic at the location where you got stranded with the car (any spare parts used will need to be paid) - without violating the car’s warranty;
• Car towing in Bulgaria to the nearest trusted car service center or 150 km in the direction of another car repair shop/location in the case of a technical failure and an insured event – for an unlimited number of times;
• Roadside assistance in the case of a technical failure and an insured event throughout Europe – for an unlimited number of times (incl. car towing to the nearest car service center in the relevant country + on-site repair services at the location of the car breakdown);
• 20% discount on Annual Technical Inspection at the Service Centers of the Union of Bulgarian Motorists (UBM);
• 24/7 call center service by calling 146 from a mobile phone;
• Special discounts at the OMV Petrol Stations and discounts under the international ShowYourCard program.
Silver Cards will be handed to individuals whose cars are between 6 and 11 years old as at the effective date for the insurance coverage. The holder of a valid Silver Card can use the following services in the Republic of Bulgaria:
• Free feeding of current to make the engine start in case of a faulty battery, and tire replacement – for an unlimited number of times;
• Free labor for up to 30 minutes of damage repairs by a Roadside Assistance Mechanic at the location where you got stranded with the car (any spare parts used will need to be paid) - without violating the car’s warranty;
• A roadside assistance user outside an urbanized area or within an urbanized area will be entitled to free towing to the nearest car repair shop (within the town limits or to the nearest district town);
• 20% discount on Annual Technical Inspection at the Service Centers of the Union of Bulgarian Motorists (UBM);
• 24/7 call center service by calling 146 from a mobile phone;
• Special discounts at the OMV Petrol Stations and discounts under the international ShowYourCard program.
